CRIC - Centre for Research on Innovation and Competition PREST RESER - European Network Services & Space

12th International Conference of RESER
the European Network of Economic and Spatial Service Research

Hosted by CRIC, the Centre for Research in Innovation and Competition,
Manchester, England
Thursday 26th and Friday 27th September 2002

Welcome to the web pages for the 12th International Conference of RESER (2002). Now that the Conference has concluded, it is our pleasure to make available to a wider audience some of the documents and papers that were created as inputs to the event.

The Conference (hosted by the Institute of Innovation Research in Manchester) stimulated strong interest from researchers across the globe and the original Call for Papers generated an extremely encouraging response. From the scores of papers submitted initially on the Conference theme of 'Services and Innovation', a selection relating to the key issues of 'Business Services', 'Public Services', and 'Organisational Change' was chosen for presentation. Each of the papers received a positive and constructive response (from an international audience including many leading practitioners in the field of innovation studies), and it is hoped that the Conference achieved its twin goals of (a) testing and synthesising existing perspectives, and (b) developing new and fruitful lines of enquiry in the area of services innovation research.

In order that the work presented at the event might receive the benefit of a wider airing, the papers included in the Conference Programme have now been made available via the link above (readers should note however, that access to individual documents is restricted to conference participants and RESER members and is by password only). The Conference Programme is also available via the link above, as is a list of participants in the event (along with their email contact details). We hope to add some photographs from the Conference as soon as these are available.

Readers may also wish to note that we are currently engaged in negotiations aimed at securing the publication of revised versions of some Conference Papers in the form of a series of edited collections. More news will be posted on this site in due course.

Finally, as organisers of the RESER Conference 2002, may we extend our thanks to all those authors, administrators and service providers whose contributions ensured that the event was a successful and highly stimulating and enjoyable experience.
