Below are some options for accommodation during the period of the “Innovation in Services” conference to be held in Manchester between Thursday 15th and Saturday 17th June 2006. The Conference will be held in the MBS West Building of the Manchester Business School. The conference will start at 11am on the 15th and end at 1pm on the 17th. We ask you to make your bookings directly with the hotel of your choice.
The Cheapest Option is staying in a “student room” at the Manchester Conference Centre. This offers an en-suite room with a single bed at £34.80 per night bed and breakfast (++44 161 955 8084). The Manchester Conference Centre is less than a mile (1.5 kms) from the conference venue (15 minutes walk). Manchester’s city centre is also about a mile (1.5 kms) in the other direction. We understand there are plenty of these rooms available for the nights of the 14th to the 17th of June.
Mid Priced Options include the IBIS hotels (3 stars - www.ibishotel.com), of which Manchester has two: one on Charles Street, the other on Portland Street. The Charles Street IBIS (£59.90 bed and breakfast - ++44 0161 272 5000) is slightly closer to the conference venue whilst the Portland Street IBIS (£61.90 bed and breakfast - ++44 0161 272 5000) is closer to the city centre, but both are within a mile of the conference venue (1.5 kms - 15 minutes walk). We understand that there are rooms available for the nights of the 14th to the 16th of June, but not currently the Saturday night (17th) should delegates wish or need to stay over. This situation may change, but we suggest you transfer to the Manchester Business School’s (£58.75 bed and breakfast: ++44 161 275 6333) own accommodation for the Saturday night if you leave on Sunday.
Higher Priced Options include the Palace Hotel (4 stars) (Single rooms are £84 B&B, double rooms £104 B&B; ++44 161 288 1111). This hotel is located about half a mile (1 km) from the conference venue and about a mile from Manchester city centre. We understand that there are rooms available for the nights of the 14th to the 16th of June, but not currently the Saturday night (17th) should delegates wish or need to stay over. This situation may change, but you may wish to transfer to the Manchester Business School’s (£58.75 bed and breakfast: ++44 161 275 6333) own accommodation for the Saturday night if you leave on Sunday. Alternatively, other higher priced options include the Thistle Hotel (4*) (++44 870 333 9139) and the Renaissance Hotel (4*) (++44 161 831 6000), and the Radisson Edwardian Manchester (5*) (++44 161 835 9929), all of which are located in the city centre (not more than 1.5 miles from the conference venue).
